From the flat the nearest tube station is Ravenscourt park or the Hammersmith line. The apartment is not too far from Heathrow airport, it takes roughly 20 minutes by train. To get to Gatwick airport would take 30 minutes, and to London Stansted airport roughtly 1 hour and 15 minutes by car. The buildings of London are diverse in character and have been built over long periods of time. Most buildings such the National Gallery is constructed from stone, while other public buildings are constructed and have white wash walls.
Great architecture can be seen all over the capital city, and a lot can be dated back to the time of the Roman empire. Hampton Court Palace is the oldest palace dating back to the Tudor period, followed by 17th century churches, the royal exchange and the Bank of England.
The largest parks are the Royal Parks of Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Central London and Regent's Park. London Zoo is at Regent's Park. London Zoo the world's oldest zoo and located near the famous Wax Museum, Madame Tussauds.
Closer to the centre of London are smaller Royal Parks mainly Green Park and St. James's Park. Hyde Park in particular is popular for sports and sometimes hosts open-air concerts. There are a number of larger parks outside the city, the remaining Royal Parks of Greenwich Park to the south-east, Bushy Park and Richmond Park to the south-west, as well as Victoria Park, East London. Primrose Hill to the north of Regent's Park is a popular spot to view the city skyline.
